For the longest time I've had a deep fondness (obsession) for all things knitted. Shoes, stockings, shorts, furniture- I love it all. Knitwear has had a bad reputation only fully appreciated by the Werthers Original chewing, golf playing, hill walkers of the world...and a select following. Knitwear to me means sexy, cosy craftsmanship. Even though I may have once said something similiar about James May, don't discard my ramblings yet. I'm not swooning over old man jumpers- its knitwear in an unusual format like this season's Topshop stockings (above) and this D&G knitted body that have my pulse a-racing!

All This Cape-r

Capes are set to be one of Autumn/winter’s biggest trends. The image called to mind at the mention of a cape is either the Lycra back of a masked avenger mid-flight or one of utter elegance. A camel-coloured swinging delight paired with this seasons biker skinnies, buckled boots, a bike, the Eiffel tower and a baguette. Alas, here lies the problem…when this caped vision lifts her elegant arms (to reach for the baguette) she remembers that her arms are otherwise engaged. This struggle of limbs and fabric is anything but elegant! Despite this, impracticality is what makes any self-respecting fashionista and as such there is certainly a place for this fiendishly stylish item in my wardrobe.
